Conscious Times Online is the student voice of Maharishi University of Management.

The mission of Conscious Times Online is to spread awareness about an unusual town in southeast Iowa where Consciousness Based Education and Transcendental Meditation influence the daily lives of a steadily growing group of talented young artists, entrepreneurs, thinkers and spiritual luminaries.

Founded in 2007 by student Alex Cequea, the paper was a controversial yet beloved asset of the student body and earned Alex a coveted Maharishi Award for undergraduate excellence. In spring of 2009, Alex handed the paper off to then-editor Katie Cleary. As the new Editor-in-Chief, Katie continued to elevate the publication with the team by introducing a complimentary website featuring additional content. In the fall of 2009, with the help of Media and Communications student Leon Lewis, Conscious Times transitioned to an all digital format and focused on publishing content solely for the website. Sustainability and future reach were the deciding factors to move the publication to an all digital format. Katie soon handed leadership over to Leon Lewis as he continued to expand readership while broadcasting out the awesomeness of Fairfield to the rest of the world via the web.  The first version of the website showcased student art, news articles, videos, and campus events. In 2010, leadership was passed over to Wade Koch while Leon stayed on as a technical director. Together, Wade and Leon refurbished the website and re-branded the digital publication as ‘Conscious Times Online’. Around the same time the super amazing Director of Student Activities Rianna Koppel jumped on board to help keep students up-to-date with the latest happenings around campus. With the help of our amazing team of contributors, excellent content, a fresh website and Facebook, Conscious Times Online now receives hundreds of hits from Google each week (and sometimes thousands!). The website now features health articles, research, news, student art including music, HD photography, HD video, creative writing, plus more and of course regularly covers all major campus news and Fairfield events with the help of Rianna Koppel, Director of Student Activities at MUM. Alex, Katie, Leon and Wade are now amongst the rapidly expanding group of MUM Alumni and have proudly passed the torch to Media and Communications student Jada Foster.
